Business Development Manager - Eastern Region
Opportunity: Join a growing company that has 350 customers worldwide, a mature product, and a strong value proposition for the Business Intelligence market. Work from your home office; travel as required to advance sales cycles and close business with customers in on the east coast. If you like the idea of maximizing your time selling, adding value to customers, and making money while minimizing your time in staff meetings, management approval loops, escalations, and other bureaucratic time wasters…we’re looking for you to join our team.
Role: Reporting to the VP & General Manager, the Business Development Manager will acquire new account relationships, serving the customer with new licenses and professional services (training, consulting) while looking after installed base customers to insure maintenance renewals and explore PS opportunities.
Experience Required: At least 15 years of field sales in firm(s) related to the Business Intelligent market. Candidate will have a demonstrated track record of success as measured by achieving goals for revenue and new account acquisition. Candidate must possess a propensity for independent thinking, determination, and be self-motivated. A 4-year BS or BA degree is required.
Geography/Territory: Eastern time zone
Training: New BDM will have 6 month ramp to reach plateau of independent behavior. During the ramp period, BDM will have access to the VP for buddy calls, a local Technical Analyst, and other sales/technical resources throughout the company. To fully appreciate the WhereScape value proposition, culture, and resources, a trip to New Zealand will be arranged at approximately the 60 day mark of the ramp period.
Target Customers: WhereScape enables mid-market firms to build their data warehouse fast, operate it effectively, and manage it well. WhereScape offers RED as its flagship technology that enables this process; we also offer PS for training, on-boarding, and consulting. WhereScape also helps larger firms with mature data warehouse environments get more from their investment. We bring a fresh look at agile development and delivery that augments classic ETL, modeling tools, and report writing.
Compensation Plan: BDM will receive “credit” for all sales in the territory inclusive of indirect business through local Value Added Resellers (VAR), annual maintenance, training, consulting, and new software licenses. Compensation includes competitive base salary, commission, and incentives.
