New Zealand's first Master of Analytics course available in 2015

FlierMassey University’s new Master of Analytics (Business) aims to meet a growing business demand for qualified graduates, capable of harvesting, processing, analysing and presenting data in ways that encourage informed and effective organisational decision-making. Those able to extract useful information from big data, while maintaining data security and privacy, are becoming ever more indispensable. They offer an understanding of clients and allow organisations to become more competitive or improve service performance.

With a focus on data in the business context, the Master of Analytics (Business) will equip students with both the technical ability and the competence in critical thinking needed to transform massive amounts of data into essential organisational intelligence, and to communicate your findings in a compelling way. Students will also gain a thorough understanding of business challenges, in order to identify problems and opportunities for your organisation, and how to approach these with the appropriate data and techniques.

Roles that call for these skills include: consultant, business analyst, investment specialist, customer insights officer, database analyst, business insight executive, supply management specialist and many more. The programme can be completed in 12 months of full-time study, or over a longer period of part-time study. For 2015, it will be taught in block mode at Massey’s Albany campus.
