WhereScape

On the 1st of July 2016, WhereScape became the first high tech company in New Zealand to be accredited as a Living Wage employer.

Michael Whitehead, CEO, says: “My opinion is that it is the right, socially responsible thing to do. I believe it is necessary that people can actually afford to live in places such as Auckland and do the work they need to do.”

WhereScape’s accreditation was celebrated at a special Living Wage event that brought together fellow supporters of the Living Wage movement from Auckland and beyond.

The Living Wage hourly rate for 2016 is set at $19.80.  It reflects the basic expenses of workers and their families, and is calculated by the New Zealand Family Centre Social Policy Unit.

There are currently 58 accredited employers in New Zealand, and the Living Wage movement is hoping to see their ranks grow in the future.

WhereScape is proud to be supporting the Living Wage initiative that helps New Zealand society become fairer and more inclusive.
