Headquartered in Novi, Michigan, Learning Care Group, Inc. is the second largest for-profit child care provider in North America. An international leader in child education and family solutions, it provides early education and care services to more than 100,000 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 12 years.
Learning Care Group’s five brands maintained different systems, methods of managing data, and business definitions and metrics. Also, the company had no data warehouse for reporting and analytics, opting instead to capture data on a weekly basis and provide snapshots of the data to business users.
The organization selected WhereScape® automation software to streamline the data warehouse development process, and to engage business and IT staff in a collaborative way to rapidly deliver and expand an integrated data warehouse environment.
Using WhereScape® RED, Learning Care Group generated and deployed a self-documented Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse in 120 days. IT staff can now provide iterations to business users, gather and incorporate their feedback, and delivered usable data to decision makers within 10 days. The new data warehouse eliminated redundant data and report requests and greatly reduced the number of reports that operations managers need to review, enabling more of their time to be spent with students and parents.
