Founded in 1966, Hall Hunter Partnership (HHP) is a leading UK fruit grower, counting Waitrose, Marks & Spencer and Tesco among its largest customers. To help it remain efficient and competitive, HHP needed to collate and analyze data from a variety of disparate sources, including sensors in its fields and glasshouses. However, using spreadsheets with complex formulas and charts to analyze the vast quantity of data proved to be extremely slow and unmanageable.
HHP decided to create a new data warehouse that would serve as a single source of truth for accurate insight into the health of the business. To speed up the delivery of the new data warehouse, HHP chose WhereScape automation software to automate the design, development, deployment and operation lifecycle. The small project team rapidly built a central data warehouse, enabling the company to capture and store critical information regardless of data source.
- Can now identify trends in the data quickly and respond rapidly with more informed decisions
- Reduced reporting time for some pre-existing reports from 20 minutes to just seconds
- With WhereScape automation, IT employee is now as productive as four employees were previously without automation
