RED 10.7: Validation Up Front, Fewer Issues Later
A lot of friction in upgrades and new environments does not come from the major tasks. It comes from the small setup issues that are easy to miss until they break something later. RED 10.7 is built to address exactly that.
With this release, we have introduced eight new validation checks into the Scheduler installation and upgrade process, helping users catch common configuration problems before they become blockers. Service credentials, Windows rights, directory permissions, DPAPI encryption capability, server ports and scheduler URLs are all checked earlier in the process, reducing guesswork and helping teams get up and running with more confidence.
RED 10.7 also strengthens the connection between 3D and RED. Post-load scripts and procedures are now generated automatically during 3D Export to RED, and UI-configured column properties are carried across too. The result is a smoother handoff, less manual work and a more complete export experience.
For teams building automated delivery pipelines, Batch Application creation via med.exe is now fully headless. With dialogs suppressed and output redirected to stderr, it fits more naturally into CI/CD and DevOps workflows powered by non-interactive services like the RED Scheduler.
We have also improved script execution consistency in the RED UI, with UTF-8 now used by default and PowerShell scripts on Windows including a BOM for improved compatibility with PowerShell 5.x. Altogether, RED 10.7 is about making the path to working automation smoother, cleaner and more predictable.
