CogasCogas is an energy and telecommunications company, based in the Netherlands with revenue of €43.5 million and with a workforce of 180. Although it already had a data warehouse with around 200,000 connections, the architecture was undocumented and untrusted by the business.
Cogas wanted to build a new, reliable and agile reporting environment quickly. The team also wanted the environment to be managed by just one full-time member of staff, so Data Automation was the only real option. Cogas had 70 sources (half Oracle, half Excel), but aimed to reduce this by two thirds by decommissioning much of its legacy software.
Cogas felt WhereScape stood out from the competition because of its ability to orchestrate jobs and its deployment support. Having signed with WhereScape, Cogas is building a Data Vault on SQL server, with reporting via Power BI.
