AI may be changing how organizations use data but reliable AI still depends on something more fundamental: high-quality, governed data delivered through an architecture the business can trust.
Join Antti Kajala, CIO at WiseDigi – WhereScape partner, for a behind-the-scenes Customer POV webinar exploring how Finnish energy company Pohjolan Voima, worked with WiseDigi and WhereScape to build a more scalable, auditable and AI-ready data platform.
Pohjolan Voima produces approximately 20% of Finland’s electricity across a diverse portfolio of hydropower, biopower and nuclear power plants. Supporting this environment means integrating large volumes of operational and measurement data from new interfaces, meters and sensors, while continuing to work with established legacy systems.
The organization needed to address familiar data challenges, including manual processes, key-person dependencies, inconsistent documentation, growing data volumes and fragmented power plant systems. It also needed a more unified view of energy production and operational efficiency, without compromising data quality, traceability or cost control.
In this practical session, Antti will show how Pohjolan Voima approached these challenges by combining the right architecture, technology, skills and governance.
You will learn how the team:
- Designed a flexible Bronze, Silver and Gold data architecture using Azure, Snowflake, WhereScape, Data Vault 2.0 and Power BI.
- Preserved raw data for complete traceability and auditability.
- Used historized Data Vault structures to create refined, business-aligned data in the Silver layer.
- Delivered reporting-ready dimensional models and business logic through the Gold layer.
- Applied WhereScape 3D and WhereScape RED to automate data modeling, code generation, orchestration, lineage and documentation.
- Reduced manual development effort through metadata-driven, pattern-based delivery.
- Improved impact analysis and troubleshooting through technical data lineage.
- Created a clearer foundation for secure reporting, operational analytics and future AI use cases.
- Balanced technology investment with internal skills, business knowledge and selected partner expertise.
This is not a theoretical discussion about what an AI-ready platform might look like: it is a practical customer story about what Pohjolan Voima built, why it made those architectural choices and how the approach supports faster delivery, stronger data quality and more trusted decision-making.
Attendees will leave with clear lessons they can apply to their own modernization initiatives, including how to structure data layers, reduce dependency on undocumented knowledge, improve governance and make AI a companion in innovation, rather than a source of unreliable answers.
Join us on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 10 AM ET // 4 PM CEST to see how Pohjolan Voima is turning complex operational data into decisive power.
